ഈ രംഗത്തിൽ പൂ വിൽപ്പനക്കാരിയായ ഒരു യുവതിയെയാണ് ചിത്രീകരിക്കുന്നത്. ഇവർ ഇങ്ഗ്ളിഷ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് തികച്ചും നിലവാരം കുറഞ്ഞ ഇങ്ഗ്ളിഷിലാണ് എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്ന Prof Higgens, ഇവരെല്ലാംകൂടി ഇങ്ഗ്ളിഷിനെ കൊലചെയ്യുകയാണ് എന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെടുന്നു.
തുടർന്നുണ്ടാകുന്ന വാഗ്വാദത്തിൽ, ഒരാളുടെ ഭാഷയുടെ നിലവാരം ഉയർത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് ആ ആളുടെ സാമൂഹികമായ നിലവാരവും മറ്റും ഉയർത്താനാവും എന്ന് Prof Higgens അവകാശപ്പെടുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് ഈ യുവതിയെ Prof Higgens നല്ല നിലവാരമുള്ള ഇങ്ഗ്ളിഷ് പഠിപ്പിക്കുകയും ഈ യുവതി സാമൂഹികമായ ഉയർന്ന സദസ്സുകളിൽ അനായാസം കയറുന്നതുമായുള്ള ഒരു കഥയാണ് Pygmalionൽ ഉള്ളത്.
